Tupac: Live at the House of Blues (1996)

As a critical component to Death Row records, alongside other icons such as Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, Tupac brought a multi-dimensional appeal, allowing fans to bond with hip-hop like never before. This Blu-ray captures the raw charisma of one of Hip Hop’s most revered artists. Why did thousands of dreaded, hallucinogen-fueled light-seekers load up the back of their vans with crystals, holy wood from Peru, tapestries and strange chemicals, traversing from all over the country to gather at Red Rocks on Saturday? This was one of the few times the entire 12-piece Shpongle — including both frontmen Simon Posford and Raja Ram — has played and will play (for the foreseeable future) in this country. The psychedelic (“psybient”) group from the U.K. has been pushing the boundaries of synth, world and experimental music since its inception in 1996, and last played as a full band in this country in 2011.

By the time the world hears the performances from these two shows, Gov’t Mule will have celebrated 25 years as a band, which is something they never could have imagined. It’s no easy task keeping a band together for 25 years. You don’t get to do that without having built, nurtured, depended on, and tested important relationships. In fact, with any band that’s stayed around that long, it’s all about relationships. When the band decided to document where they are currently (musically speaking), it was immediately clear that, amongst other things, this release should be a celebration of those relationships. Available June 28th via Provogue Records, Bring On The Music: Live At The Capitol Theatre is a commemoration curated with the audience experience at the forefront. “Without our audience, there would be no chance or reason for us to be around 25 years later,” says founding member and lead guitarist Warren Haynes. “They’ve stuck with us from the beginning, and this is our way of including them in the celebration of our 25 years together.”

Aufgenommen wurde »MTV Unplugged« am 4. Mai 2015 in Ludwigsburg, knapp 60 km von Cros Geburtsort Mutlangen entfernt. Als Location diente das alte Scala-Kino. Mit seiner über hundertjährigen Tradition ist das Scala ein beeindruckender Veranstaltungsort für Kino, Theater, Kabarett und Musik. Rund 300 Fans fanden sich im fast originalen Plüsch-Ambiente der 1950er Jahre zusammen, um Cros Akustikset zu erleben.

Drei Städte, drei Hallen – 25 Songs: Der W live aus Dortmund, Frankfurt und Göttingen in HD. Dazu Antworten auf die Fragen: Wieso? Weshalb? und Warum ein Song entsteht und eine Tour so cool ist wie sonst nichts.
Das Herzstück dieser Blu-ray bildet die DER W-Show in der Dortmunder Westfalenhalle – dem ehemaligen Wohnzimmer des Frankfurters. Mit insgesamt 28 Kameras wurde die Show aufgezeichnet, mit allen Höhen und Tiefen und einigen sympathischen Unsicherheiten. Den Kontrast zu dieser Gigantomanie bilden die Bilder vom Tourabschluss in Göttingen: 2000 Fans rasten komplett aus und Weidner präsentiert sich von seiner besten Seite: Locker, entspannt und souverän. Der dritte Abstecher führt nach Frankfurt: Heimspiel in einer mit über 5000 Menschen ausverkauften Ballsporthalle. Diese Vollbedienung kommt – wie man es aus dem Hause Weidner gewohnt ist – hochwertig in die heimischen Wohnzimmer. Ein Dokument, das jedem der 50.000 Besucher der „Autournomie!“ gut zu Gesicht stehen wird.

Auf „Live im Wasserschloss Klaffenbach“ dokumentieren Blutengel die bis dato größte Show ihrer Karriere. Das neue Release hält das komplett ausverkaufte Ereignis in bester Ton- und Bildqualität.
